This week Gail Clark, the former choreographer at TCHS passed away. She was such a remarkable woman and her death hit in me in a way that I didnt think would. In my first year at the high school, I joined the musical and who knew that that would forever change my life. I was so excited to be a part of the show… until I met Mrs. Clark. If youve seen the devil wears prada and remember the moment when Meryl Streep catches Anne Hathaway creeping out of her house and yells at her with her eyes? Thats exactly how I felt whenever Mrs. Clark caught me going left instead of right and staying up instead of going down. She yelled at me with her scary eyes and occasionally she would actually yell. However, I kept coming back to the program because I learned how to dance because of her. Through the years I found her to be a friendly, classy and knowledgable person in her own way. I really appreciated the countless hours of rehearsals she spent with us and the amazing things she could make us do. Mrs. Clark, you are such an amazing woman, and as sad as I am to say good bye, I hope that you and your husband are reunited together in heaven. Brighter Side misses you and we hope youre watching over us. As always, 5, 6, 7, 8!
